Mr. Andreas Scheuer, Minister of Transport and Digital Infrastructure of the Federal Republic of Germany and Mr. Winfried Hermann, Minister of Transport of the State of Baden-Württemberg will introduce the new HY4 powertrain generation. Mr. Walter Schoefer, CEO of Stuttgart Airport, will host the event, which will be attended by Mr. Kurt-Christoph von Knobelsdorff, CEO National Organization Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Technology (NOW), and Mr. Josef Kallo, project leader HY4.

Based on the HY4 platform owned by H2FLY, an international project consortium from science and industry (University of Ulm, German Aerospace Center DLR-TT, H2FLY GmbH, Pipistrel d.o.o., Diehl Aerospace GmbH, Cummins Canada) achieved not only a functional, but also a reliable hydrogen electric powertrain and an efficient aerodynamic integration. Aircraft-specific development procedures and qualification rules were implemented securing a leading position worldwide.

First results from flight tests show the capability of the powertrain for upscaling to MW level, enabling AirTaxi, General Aviation and Regional Aircraft up to 40 seats and a range of 2.000 km. This achievement was made possible by financial support from the German Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure, the Ministry of Transport of the State of Baden Württemberg, the German Federal Ministry of Economics and Energy, Stuttgart Airport and the European Commission.
