The European Aeronautics Days (Aerodays) conference is the European Union’s flagship event for aviation research and development, mirroring the priorities and strategies set within the European Union research Framework Programmes. Its objective is to deliver an exhaustive picture of all aviation research achievements obtained from European research and to look forward to future research needs in order to contribute to the forthcoming Horizon Europe’s and in particular the European Green Deal’s objectives.
AeroDays2020, held on November 25th and 26th, aimed to provide feasible technological solutions for the strategies discussed at the #BAS2020. By concentrating on research, technology and innovation as enablers of climate neutrality, environmental protection and industrial leadership, the talks and panel discussions addressed the industry’s most urgent – and fascinating – issues.
The #AeroDays2020 presented senior executives from the European Commission discussing the future of aviation and the implementation of EU policy priorities, e.g. the European Green Deal, with leading representatives from the aviation industry and research, among which were also MAHEPA project partners. The dynamic talks and panel discussions at the #AeroDays2020 FORUM were open to all visitors and served as a platform for the dissemination and implementation of world-leading EU projects and technical programs based on the Horizon 2020 framework.
MAHEPA, as a steppingstone project to greener and more sustainable future, addressed the topics of energy transition and the need to develop and implement new innovative and revolutionary technologies, which will lead to emission free aviation, objectives set by EU Green Deal.
The European Commission and its Innovation and Networks Executive Agency (INEA) were delighted to also present a selection of the best EU-funded projects in this virtual exhibition, demonstrating the support of Europe to aviation research towards a smarter, safer and greener aviation.
To get a deeper insight into the showcased projects, the European Aviation provided the Aerodays Podcast at its virtual booth with contents from all the involved projects. Make sure to listen to the MAHEPA’s episode, with the Project Coordinator’s interview:
